It should also be noted that older adults reported more o en at least one limitation in instrumental activities of daily living (such as preparing a hot meal, shopping, taking medications, managing money, etc.) than any limitation in basic ADLs (Figure 4). more than 14% of older males and one quarter of women of the same age had at least one limitation in IADL. As previously mentioned, signi cant di erences between older men and women as well as between the countries are observed. For example, about one third of older women in Poland, Greece and Estonia were limited with at least one IADL in comparison to less than 20% of women in Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland. Likewise, nearly one in  ve older men in Poland, Greece, Belgium and Estonia compared to ca. 10% in Italy, Croatia, Switzerland and Spain reported this kind of limitations.
As it was mentioned above, the health status of older people worsens signi cantly with age.  e obtained results con rmed this pattern (see Figure 5 and Figure 6). In all the
