COURSE AIM
Programme implementation: Hele Leek-Ambur The course aims to shape knowledge and skills for composing and successfully carrying out HP projects. Through the course students will learn how to contribute in the development of a shared vision and how to lead and coordinate HP actions towards the strategic direction and enabling the change. They will also gain knowledge about the theory and practice of effective leadership including teamwork, negotiation, motivation, con ict resolution, decision- making, stakeholder engagement, networking, facilitation and problem-solving.

One of the key competencies of a health promotion practitioner is leadership. It is the ability to plan effective health promotion programs, manage resources and staff, understand the different phases of the program, budget and plan work from idea to evaluation. Change management must be carefully thought through, regardless of whether it is done in the community, enterprise or institution. And with all that, the health promotion specialist needs to keep in mind empowerment strategies. Having completed this course, the health promotion specialist understands the three most important roles: supporting, empowering, and mediating health-promoting processes.
