In the past 60 years many classification systems have been developed to define the dimensions of leadership. Leadership can be viewed from the perspective of group processes, personality, in terms of the power relationship that exists between leaders and followers. There are also discussions of moral and social dimensions of leadership. Another perspective is to examine the styles of female and male leaders and their effectiveness in organizational settings.

Leadership can be also examined from the perspectives of culture, its dimensions, and ways in which culture affects the leadership process. This learning object focuses on culture and leadership.
