Assignment
ASSIGNMENT: 3 Questions about Culture and Leadership
Group Work
Group work is one pedagogical strategy that promotes participation and interaction. It also fosters a deeper and more active learning process. In addition to exposing students to different approaches and ways of thinking, working with other students in groups can promote a sense of belonging that combats the anonymity and isolation that many students experience at a large campus. Working together in groups also gives students the opportunity to learn from and teach each other. Classroom research has shown that students often learn better from each other than they do from a teacher (Barkley et al. 2005, pp.16–20).
Think-Pair-Share Technique
1) Think about 10 minutes about the following questions (make notes):
- How culture and leadership are related?
- Can you identify leaders in your country who represent those desired leadership behaviors according to the results of the GLOBE study?
- Can you identify leaders in the organizations where you have had working experiences and who represent those desired leadership behaviours?
2) Pair with another student and discuss your responses to the questions during 30 minutes.
3) Share your responses with the whole study group via virtual discussion forum.
