Editorial 5/2 - 2013 The Changing Face of Music and Art Education is a peer-reviewed journal with an international editorial board. Its aim is to issue research in the field of music and art education and its related interdisciplinary fields. As a developing journal, we are delighted to announce the second issue of the fifth volume of 2013. The issue brings together Music, Art, Philosophy, and Pedagogy, and is divided into three subsections featuring intriguing and inspiring articles by experienced and emerging (young) scholars. In Creativity, musicality and composing the interdisciplinary opening key essay “What if?” offers a hauntingly open insight into the history and function of creativity, musicality, and wellbeing in music and art. It advocates a tolerant attitude towards their understanding and support in education. The second article in this section observes the intercultural differences in teacher talk in a musical composition class based on a comparative study between Japan and England. Both articles continue our series of issues on Creativity, Musicality and Wellbeing started in CFMAE 2012 /1–2. The Philosophy and teaching methods section includes a contemplation of the cyclical nature of music education rationales and philosophies and the influence of the value in music. It is an interdisciplinary study on the spiritual approach to teaching music for children analyzing their drawings created while listening to the music of Debussy. The Performance anxiety and vocal pedagogy section observes factors influencing singing students' confidence to sing. CFMAE is dedicated to serving an international readership with diverse needs, interests, and concerns addressing the main idea, that music and art education is constantly in flow, it's changing face can be traced back in history (yesterday), shape the contemporary development (today) and will affect the future (tomorrow). The journal is hosted by Tallinn University Institute of Fine Arts Department of Music and supported by Tallinn University Research Fund. The editors thank all contributors, evaluators and supporters.
