Spring 2006 marks the start of an academic unit Riho Pätsi Keskus (RPK, Riho Päts Centre), which was establised to support the research and development of music and education at Tallinn University Institute of Fine Arts. Estonian music teacher, composer, journalist and researcher, professor Riho Päts (1899–1977) emphasised constantly that a teacher has to complement him/herself to be up to date with contemporary developments. This objective applies for RPK, which provides music teachers, music students and interested parties with intriguing and actual topics and presenters for its scientific-practical seminars.
