The department's mission is to contribute to the development and reputation of the university, to the improvement of management quality, and to the success of research and development activities.

• provides information about funding opportunities for research and development activities;
• advises and supports research and development projects throughout the project's life cycle, including during the application;
• manages contracts for research and development projects in the University's document management system and transfers research projects to the Estonian Science Information System (ETIS);
• organises information days and trainings;
• deals with increasing the university's competence in applying for research funding;
• develops a support system for the application and implementation of research and development projects based on the University's strategic goals.
